Plugin based sound effects allow you to get much more from those sounds. Each drum has common parameters (e.g. volume, panorama, associated MIDI keys), audio effect pipeline and a set of velocity layers with sound generators. MDrummer's sound system plays drums as good as any other percussion instruments and even sound effects (for example scratches). It is very general, though very fast, optimized for modern instruction sets.
